Serie A Betting Tips
The biggest Milan derby in years takes place on Sunday. Here are our betting tips for that and the rest of this weekend’s Serie A action.
AC Milan v Inter Milan: Romelu Lukaku first goal scorer and Inter Milan win 6.5
Games don’t get much bigger than first versus second in a local derby. Until last week, it was AC Milan occupying the top spot in Serie A, but their limp defeat at Spezia, coupled with yet another Inter victory, has seen the Milan giants swap places.
It’s very hard to see anything other than an Inter win this week, and if Inter do emerge victorious it seems highly likely that Romelu Lukaku will have a big part to play. The Belgian striker has found the net 16 times this season and netted in Inter’s recent Coppa Italia victory over their rivals.
Fiorentina v Spezia: Spezia 4
Spezia are playing some excellent football this season and it has been rewarded with recent wins against Sassuolo and AC Milan. The victory over Milan was especially impressive as they didn’t allow the league leaders to have a single shot on target. They will fancy their chances at a Fiorentina side that have lost their last two games and are falling dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Despite the contrasting form of the two sides, Fiorentina are big favourites in this one, but the odds of 4 on an away win are far too big to ignore.
Cagliari v Torino: Draw and under 2.5 goals 3.7
This is the proverbial six pointer. Fourth bottom Torino travel to third bottom Cagliari in a crunch relegation battle. The visitors have drawn their last five Serie A games and victory here would move them above their opponents. Cagliari have picked up just one point from their last five games, a run that has seen them get sucked into the relegation battle.
This is going to be a nervous game and quality may be in short supply. Picking a winner is virtually impossible, so the smart money is for Torino to carry on their remarkable run of draws, in a low scoring encounter.
Benevento v Roma: Roma to win and +3.5 goals: 2.9
Roma are still just about in the Serie A title hunt, but two defeats in their last five have left them with a small mountain to climb. They’ve conceded more goals than any other team in the top half of Serie A, so it’s clear where their frailties lie. Benevento were having an excellent season, but have picked up just two points in their last five games. They’ve also struggled defensively and only the bottom two sides have conceded more.
Expect plenty of goals in this one. Roma are strong favourites and it’s hard to see them slipping up, but Benevento can get on the scoresheet. At least four goals being scored looks very likely, and together with an away win makes for an excellent double.
Whatever your choices are this week, make sure you gamble responsibly! Good luck.
