Premier League Betting Tips
With just five games remaining, the biggest issues still to be resolved in the Premier League looks like the race for the Champions League places. This week’s fixtures could go a long way to deciding who makes the top four, who has to settle for a spot in the Europa League and who misses out altogether. Here are our top Premier League betting tips:
Everton v Aston Villa: Draw 3.7
Everton’s win at the Emirates breathed life into their European charge, but it’s been their form at Goodison that has left them facing an uphill battle to qualify. The Toffees have registered just five home wins this season, compared to ten away victories. It’s very hard to trust them at their own ground, despite facing a Villa side with very little to play for.
Everton are clear favourites here, but we can’t look past that terrible home form. 3.7 for a point apiece is too large to ignore.
Newcastle United v Arsenal: Newcastle 4
This is probably the first time we’ve picked Newcastle in a Premier League betting tip this season, but the circumstances of this one make them very appealing. For a start, the Toon have managed two wins and two draws in their last four games. This run includes a superb victory over West Ham and credible draws with Spurs and Liverpool. It’s left them on the brink of Premier League safety, something that looked a long way off just three weeks ago. As for Arsenal, their limp defeat to Everton was symbolic of a poor season and 1.83 looks far too short for them to win here. What’s more, this game is sandwiched between the Gunner’s Europa League semi-final matches with Villarreal.
In short, this is a great time to be playing Arsenal. A home win looks a strong possibility and odds of 4 seem extremely generous.
Manchester United v Liverpool: Score draw 3.9
It’s been a frustrating week for both of these Premier League giants. Not only have they had to deal with the furore surrounding their involvement in the ill-fated European Super League, but on the field, they’ve had disappointing results as well. United’s limp draw at Leeds effectively ended their faint title hopes, whilst Liverpool’s draw with Newcastle left their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.
United are slight favourites here, but with the game coming just three days after their Europa League semi-final with Roma, they may not be at full strength. However, Liverpool are very hard to trust at the minute, so the 3.9 on both teams scoring in a draw looks a good value bet.
Chelsea v Fulham: Timo Werner to score 2 or more goals 7.5
Timo Werner ended his goal drought with the winner at West Ham last time out. It was a deserved reward for the German striker, who’s never let his head drop despite struggling to find the net for large chunks of the season. Even before that goal at West Ham, there were signs that Werner was coming into some form and this week’s encounter with Fulham is a very attractive fixture for him. After briefly threatening a great escape, Fulham have fallen away in recent games and now look resigned to relegation.
A home win looks a certainty here, but 1.4 holds little appeal. Instead, we like the look of Werner carrying on his return to form and getting a couple of goals. 7.5 on the German scoring at least twice here looks an attractive price.
